There
has been a Museum in Cirencester since 1856.
The present Museum has been created from several fine 18th
century buildings fronting on to Park Street, including the former
Abberley House. In 2004 the
Museum re-opened after extensive transformation creating a unique space in
which to house its nationally important collection of artifacts.
